പുലി പോയപ്പം പോത്ത് വന്നു, പോത്ത് പോകുമ്പം ?

 വന്യ മൃഗങ്ങൾ കാടിറങ്ങുന്നു, ഭീതി വിട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ജനങ്ങൾ

അടിമാലി: ആന, പോത്ത്, പുലി തുടങ്ങിയ അക്രമകാരികളായ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ കാടിറങ്ങുന്നത് ജനങ്ങളെ ഭയാശങ്കയിലാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. കുടിയേറ്റ കാലം മുതൽക്കേ ഹൈറേഞ്ചിൽ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ ആക്രമണം പതിവാണ്. എന്നാൽ ജനവാസകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അടിക്കടിയുള്ള ഇവയുടെ വരവ് ജനങ്ങളിൽ വല്ലാതെ ഭീതി ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഹൈറേഞ്ചിന്റെ വിവിധമേഖലകളിൽ പുലിയിറങ്ങിയതിന്റെ ഞെട്ടൽ ജനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വിട്ടൊഴിയും മുൻപാണ് നാലു പഞ്ചായത്തുകളിലെ ജനങ്ങളെ വിറപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് പണിക്കൻ കുടി, കുരങ്ങുപാറമേഖലയിൽ കാട്ടുപോത്തിറങ്ങിയത്. നാലു ദിവസം ജനവാസമേഖലകളിലൂടെ വിഹരിച്ചപോത്ത് നാലുപേരെ ആക്രമിച്ച് പരിക്കേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 2006ൽ ഇതേ സ്ഥലത്ത് കാട്ടുപോത്ത് ഒരാളെ ആക്രമിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നു. മറയൂർ ചിന്നാർ   വനമേഖലയിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് കാട്ടുപോത്ത് ജനവാസമേഖലയായ ബൈസൺവാലി, പൊൻമുടി, പണിക്കൻകുടിപോലുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നത്. വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ ജനവാസമേഖലയിൽ എത്തി ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവന് ഭീഷണിയാവുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ അവയെ വെടിവെക്കുവാനോ തുരത്തുവാനോ ഉള്ള നിയമപരമായ അനുമതി ലഭിക്കുന്നതിന് കാലതാമസം സംഭവിക്കുന്നു. കാട്ടുപോത്തിനെ മയക്കുവെടി വെക്കുവാൻ 300 കിലോമീറ്ററോളം സഞ്ചരിച്ച് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തു നിന്നുമാണ് മയക്കുവെടി സംഘം ഇടുക്കിയിലെത്തുന്നത്. ഹൈറഞ്ചിന്റെ തെക്കൻ പ്രദേശമായ മാങ്കുളത്ത് കാട്ടാനകളും കാട്ടു പന്നികളുമാണ് കൂട്ടത്തോടെ കാടിറങ്ങുന്നത്. ഒന്നരമാസം മുൻപ് മാങ്കുളത്ത് കൂട്ടത്തോടെ കാടിറങ്ങിയ കാട്ടുപന്നികൾ രണ്ടേക്കറിലധികം വരുന്ന കുരുമുളകുതോട്ടം പാടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. മാങ്കുളം ആനക്കുളത്ത് കാട്ടാനകൾ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ കാടിറങ്ങുന്നത് ഇപ്പോൾ നിത്യേനയുള്ള കാഴ്ചയാണ്. മലയാറ്റൂർഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഡിവിഷനിലെ വനമേഖലയിൽ നിന്നാണ് കാട്ടാനകൾ ആനക്കുളത്തെത്തുന്നത്. ആനക്കുളത്തെ പുഴയിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാനാണ് കാട്ടാനക്കൂട്ടം ഇവിടെയെത്തുന്നത്. ചില ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ 30മുതൽ 40 വരെ എണ്ണം വരുന്ന കാട്ടാനക്കൂട്ടമാണ് എത്തുന്നത്. ആനക്കുളത്തെ പുഴയുടെ ചിലമേഖലകളിൽ വെള്ളത്തിന് ഉപ്പുരസം ഉണ്ടെന്നും ഇതാണ് ആനകളെ ഇങ്ങോട്ട് ആകർഷിക്കുന്നതെന്നും പ്രദേശ വാസികൾ പറയുന്നു. പുഴയിലിറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചശേഷം ഇവ സമീപത്തെ കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിൽ വ്യാപക നാശം വിതയ്ക്കുന്നതും പതിവാണ്. കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിലെ വാഴ, കപ്പ, തെങ്ങ് മുതലായവയാണ് പ്രധാനമായും ഇവ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഭാവിയിൽ കാട്ടാനകൾ കൂടുതലായി ജനവാസമേഖലയിൽ എത്താനുള്ള സാധ്യത പ്രദേശ വാസികളെ ഭീതിയിലാഴ്ത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്. കാട് വരണ്ടുണങ്ങി വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾക്ക് ആവശ്യത്തിനുള്ള തീറ്റ ലഭിക്കാതെ വരുന്നതോടെയാണ് ഇവ കാടിറങ്ങി ജനവാസമേഖലകളിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നത്.  ആനകളുടെ ഇഷ്ട ഭക്ഷണമായ ഈറ്റ, മുള എന്നിവ ഇന്ന് കാടുകളിൽ ദുർലഭമാണ്. മൃഗങ്ങൾ നാട്ടിലെത്തി അപകടം വിതക്കുമ്പോളും അധികൃതർ സുരക്ഷാ നടപടികൾക്കായി ഒന്നും തന്നെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലായെന്നുള്ള ആക്ഷേപം ശക്തമാണ്.
